Gala Day raises funds for hospital seating
A fantastic time was had by all at East Ayrshire Community Hospital’s Gala Day, which raised over £200.
The free-entry event took place on Saturday 10 August and welcomed children, families and other hospital visitors to enjoy games, competitions, rides and live music in the building’s main foyer and outdoor area.
With a wide range of community groups and charitable organisations in attendance, as well as local businesses selling jewellery, drinks and food, there was something for every age and interest!
Representatives from Cumnock Heritage Centre arrived in a fire engine, East Ayrshire Vibrant Communities provided children’s play equipment and CHAT team health checks, and NEST Wellbeing Group provided an outdoor living room, with comfortable seating and a place for visitors to relax with a tea or coffee.
The event also brought together representatives from the Corra Foundation, who entertained visitors with African drums, the Ayrshire Roads Alliance, Ayrshire Hospice and Ayrshire Vintage Tractor Club.
The day was a great success and raised a total of £230, which will go towards the purchase of outdoor seating for the hospital.
