Losing a loved one can bring more than grief

03.03.2025

East Ayrshire Council has published a new online resource to help you find the support you need during a period of bereavement.

When someone we care about dies, it is an incredibly sad and difficult time. Grief alone can be overwhelming, but you do not need to face this on your own.

There is a lot of support available to help us process and cope with grief. Some organisations and groups also provide specialist support, perhaps where the circumstances of someone’s passing is particularly hard to deal with. You may also be facing the prospect of someone’s death. It is important to know that you do not need to face this alone, and we want to make sure you can find services to help you when you need it most.

In addition, following a bereavement you’ll have a lot of things to take care of and people to speak to. While dealing with the emotional toll of losing someone, navigating these tasks can become quite stressful. We hope that having this information in one place will help relieve some of this for you, and help you find the support you need.
