Make a difference as a supported carer
What is a supported carer?
Our supported carers provide a home and support to young people, often with care experience, aged 16-22. They provide help with day-to-day skills, confidence-building, and preparing young people for independent living.
Supported carers are different from foster carers because they care for older children and young people who are no longer in care. The supported care arrangement is often time-limited. The young person will have a plan, which we will review regularly. It sets out what support they need to safely progress towards independent living, along with realistic timescales.

How am I approved?
You will be assessed by our team, which involves getting to know you, your motivation and skills. You will also learn lots about how to be a successful and effective supported carer. After this, your assessment will be presented to our Supported Carer panel, where you will be approved.
How do I find out more?
