Social workers take on the Kiltwalk for Marie Curie
Congratulations are in order for members of our Locality Social Work teams, who recently completed the Kiltwalk challenge in aid of Marie Curie.
Staff from teams based at Kilmarnock’s Johnnie Walker Bond took on the fundraising event, completing the 14.5 mile ‘Big Stroll’ route from Clydebank to Balloch on Saturday 25 April.
Social worker Emma Scott, a member of the team who participated, told us more about the day and their reasons for taking on the challenge:
“We chose to walk for Marie Curie as they have supported our families when we have been impacted by cancer. Between us all, we successfully raised £2,773, which we are really proud of.
“This was our second Kiltwalk after doing it last year for Down Syndrome Scotland. We will likely go again next year as a great day was had by all.”
Scotland’s largest mass participation walking event, the Kiltwalk has raised over £49.6m for 3,750 charities since its inaugural event in 2016.
